The NW Burbs Camping and Adventure Meetup Group invites you to join us for a "spring paddle" on the Kishwaukee River near Rockford, Illinois.
We will meet at Larson's Landing by 9:45 a.m. Please be prompt as we are being transferred by the outfitter. From there, our outfitter will drive us and our canoes 8 miles up river to our put-in. The expected time to paddle down river back to Larson's is about 4 hours. Directions and other information on Larson's Landing can be found on their website at:
Please stay in touch with our Meetup site (comments) prior to our departure for the latest river conditions. The outfitter will advise us if abnormal conditions exist that would prevent us from getting on the river. All members are required to wear a PFD (personal floatation device, aka "life vest"). The outfitter will provide you with one however, you may choose to wear your own vest. (Most sporting goods and department stores sell U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD's. They are inexpensive and could save your life!).
Ensure you dress properly for this trip (nylon, fleece, etc.) Remember, it's only mid April. Be prepared if the weather turns cold and wet. Bring snacks and something to drink.
We hope you can join us for this fun adventure. Note: Only a limited number of canoes are reserved so please rsvp if you are sure you wish to attend.
This is a pre-pay event. You are required to pay via Paypal at the time you RSVP. The cost of attending is $32.00 to cover the trip cost and all Paypal fees. If your schedule changes, you can cancel for a full refund by Tuesday, April 13 at 9 PM. In addition, if this event is cancelled by the organizer, you will receive a full refund.
