If Melissa and I did a Starved Rock hike this Sunday the 24th?

Could you make it? We have stuff we can do over the weekend here but also have the opportunity to camp in Wisonsin so we're trying to decide if we want to split the weekend and get back here on Sunday or just camp the whole weekend. The weather forecast for the weekend looks excellent. This is not an official meet up yet so if you say Yes to this poll that does not mean a hike is on. We will post the hike if we get a good response to this poll. This poll is for a day hike and no camping at Starved Rock is involved. Thanks for voting. =)

Would you be interested in a trip to the Boundary Waters this summer?

I'd like to gauge interest in a trip to the Boundary Waters. I would not be leading this trip, but another member of the group MIGHT. Here is a general description of the trip. This is not for the average car camper. You should have some backpacking experience!!! It would be for 5-6 days. You would canoe 3-4 hours per day. Depending on the route, chosen, you may do a little or a lot of portaging (carrying boat and gear over stretches of land). We typically canoe and portage for the first half of the day, then find an island to camp on and swim until dinner. No more than 8 people can be on a campsite, so if we have a bigger group we will split in two (or three). The fun part: this is some of the most beautiful country on earth. (Borrowing from COD trip): Listen to the call of the loon, watch for bear, bald eagle and moose, fish for trophy Northern Pike (need a MN license), marvel at the sight of the Northern Lights or just enjoy what the north woods has to offer.

Which Ravinia show would you be interested/available in attending?

Based on a previous poll, you guys seemed interested in seeing a show at Ravinia this summer. All prices are for lawn seating. You may select more than one. Poll closes April 5th.

How interested would you be in attending a concert at Ravinia this summer?

Ok, I know it's not camping, but hey, we'll be sitting on grass eating around a citronella's close! Ravinia is a summer-long music festival in Highland Park, IL. It is predominately classical music, but they also offer pop and jazz. I would probably be selecting a pop or jazz event for a Saturday evening. These would be for lawn tickets which run between $10-20 depending on the show. Food would probably be potluck. Beverages would be BYOB.

PARENTS ONLY: How interested would you be in a "family outing"?

This question is really for parents only. I have received numerous questions about possibly a family outing. The family outing would probably be a group or youth group site that holds usually up to 40 people. This event would be IN ADDITION to the regular monthly camping event I have planned.
