Are you outraged by:

political candidates' use of religious rhetoric to pander to religious communities while ignoring ours?
the crumbling wall of separation between religion and government?
the ignorance of elected officials and community leaders regarding secular values?

Turn your outrage into action! Come attend the

Secular Coalition's Grassroots Advocacy Workshop
November 8th from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
In downtown Seattle at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue

In this two-hour workshop you can learn the fundamentals of lobbying and the details of the Secular Coalition's national policy goals. This session will prepare you to effectively communicate the values and interests of secular Americans to media and politicians. Stand up for our community and engage local representatives like Rep. Jim McDermott on key issues.

Take this opportunity to have an in-depth policy conversation with Executive Director Sean Faircloth and me on the strategy and details of the Secular Coalition's lobbying. Your voice can join ours in the effort to increase the visibility of and respect for nontheists in America.

I encourage you to RSVP as soon as possible for this exciting new program in your area by emailing me at sasha@secular.org. Feel free to forward this invitation to anyone else who you think would be interested in working with the Secular Coalition. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at sasha@secular.org.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Secular Coalition for America. Please help take us to the next level in our advocacy by being part of our burgeoning grassroots movement.

Best wishes,
Sasha Bartolf

Atheist Documentary Casting Call

If you or someone you know is an atheist and would like to be interviewed in our documentary please contact us today to discuss details and schedule an interview.

This is a volunteer position and no pay will be rendered, only the great opportunity to share your story of life as an atheist in America.

Specifically, we are focusing on highlighting atheists in the community who are normal law abiding people and who do volunteer work in the area such as donating blood or helping at a food bank or at a soup kitchen. And are doing so just for the sake of helping other human beings and not for any other 'reward' in some afterlife. We'd like to film you in an interview in our studio as well as on location at a volunteer event you are participating in...and we can plug your local favorite charity by posting their website while you are talking.

We are interested in creative assistance with editing and special effects too, so if you are interested in helping in any other capacity behind the cameras, please contact us via email today!

Both Females and Males needed for interviews, and we need more females right now for balance...also seeking a married couple to interview and same sex couples, as well as 3-5 different minorities...we want to show all of the diversity within our community.

For more info on our projects and volunteer opportunities go to www.Freethinkers-United-Network.com or look for us under our www.meetup.com location as well.

Humanists, agnostics and atheists are welcome. Lively discussions with other inquiring minds. HALLOWEEN COSTUME OPTIONAL. Scheduled till nine but usually we end around 12am.

Coffee, tea and water will be available. Or bring your favorite beverage and snack.

In a comfortable home environment. It's very informal, and we take off our shoes at the apartment door, so bring house slippers or booties if your tootsies might get chilly.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Please call 206-228-7925 if you get lost.

Directions: Coming south on I405, take exit 10, Coal Creek Parkway. Turn east (go under the freeway) and travel about 3 or so miles to the single stoplight in downtown Newcastle. At the light (intersection of CCP and Newcastle Way) there is a Safeway on the right, a QFC on the left, a McDonald's and an Arco station. Turn left at that light and start up the slope. The first street is 132nd Place SE. There are several large, white apartment buildings running along 132nd Place SE; this is the Castle Creek Apartments. Take the second driveway to the right into the apartment complex. This driveway is a large "S" and goes up a very steep drive to the back of the apartment buildings. At the top of the steep drive is a parking area; you can park in any uncovered spot. Our building, #3, is the one on your immediate left at the top of the "S" drive. There is an elevated walkway from the parking lot to the top floor of the building.

This one man, two act comedy, subtitled Patriarchs and Penises, is a wild ride through the Bible and the politics of religion in the USA. Written and performed by Roger Scott Jackson, who was raised in Christian fundamentalism, the play follows the life of the fictional character, Brother Sam Singleton. Brother Sam says he's "mad at God for all the shit" he was forced to endure, even while he declares that God does not exist. Sam Singleton is a folksy and wise character, reminiscent of Mark Twain or Brer Fox, who sneaks up on the audience with powerful logic concealed just under the rippling surface of laughter. Following the two hour show, (which includes a 15 minute intermission), fans are invited to an after-party with Brother Sam at a nearby pub. Purchase your tickets in advance from Edmonds Community College Box Office online or by phone at 425 640 1448. See the website www.samsingleton.com for videos, interviews, reviews, press releases, link to Edmonds box office, and more.

Humanists, agnostics and atheists are welcome. There will be open discussions of wide-ranging topics of general group interest. Don't worry there's no twittering. That's just my silly way of getting your attention. It's face to face, hand to mouth, and sometimes foot in mouth! Scheduled till nine but usually we end around 11 pm.

Coffee, tea and water will be available. Or bring your favorite beverage and snack.

In a comfortable home environment. It's very informal, and we take off our shoes at the apartment door, so bring house slippers or booties if your tootsies might get chilly.
