mobile dev/account job going at July systems

Hey gang

There’s an open gig at July Systems in NYC. July powers apps and mobile web for most of the big sports media brands (like Sports Illustrated). If you’re into building platforms that deliver photos and video to smartphones, this is right on the money. It’s a great opportunity for someone with engineering/technical background, mobile experience and account management skills.

Apologies to group members who think this is spammy, but I figure in this economy good news needs to be passed on

Best, T

Subject: [NY-App-Meetup] New Meetup: iPhonography! The Art of Mobile Photography

Announcing a new Meetup for NY App Meetup!

What: iPhonography! The Art of Mobile Photography

When: Tuesday, June 22,[masked]:00 PM

Papillon Bistro and Bar
22 East 54 St.
New York, NY 10022

Hi All!

First off, thanks to everyone that came out monday night! We had a great meet-up with a stellar crowd and SIX strong demos from West Fourth, MightyMeeting, Miso, talk2us, Second Opinion, and Wattpad. Thanks again to the presenters!

I want to keep the momentum going so I'm going to drop the details for the next app meetup on you right now...

"Iphonography: the art of mobile photography" is next month's theme.
We are going to hunt down some of the coolest iPhone apps and photographers to give you the inside scoop on the best ways to capture the moment with your mobile. We've already got a few ideas lined up, but feel free to suggest your favorite apps or photographers and I'll try my best to get them in. If you or your friends are doing anything in this space*, please LMK!

Let's get crazy. To spice things up, I'm offering a free beer to whomever submits the best picture between now and the meetup. We will show the pictures at the meetup and let the crowd pick a favorite. We can have the finalists give a quick overview of their technology and technique. To get involved, please send

1) your photo
2) a brief description
3) the app you used to take it
4) your name

to my illustrious co-organizer Rayhan @ rmm2179 [AT] columbia [DOT] edu.

BAM! There it is.

The "iPhonography" meetup will take place on Tuesday June 22nd @ 7pm at Papillon, 22 East 54 St.

Can't wait to see y'all there. Send in those pics!

*I'm open to any app that uses photography in anyway, it doesn't necessarily have to be only about photos
