***The October 26 Event is RESCHEDULED for November 9 (tentatively)***

We truly apologize for any inconvenience but unforeseen circumstances have caused the organizers to reschedule the October Insight Tuesdays event date. The agenda will remain the same on November 9 (tentative new date) and the special offer will still be in place. Please adjust your calendars accordingly. We hope to see you all then!

Learn with us at our monthly
Insight Tuesdays event!

What: Insight Tuesdays was formed as an educational avenue to extend members? understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and drill deeper into all of its aspects. It is a kind of book club for professionals - we read and discuss chapters of CSR books, white papers, articles, reports and studies as well as view webinars, instructional videos and other media.

6:30-7:00 Networking
7:00-7:15 Introductions and Announcements
7:15-8:15 Small Group Discussion
8:15-8:30 Small Group Insight Reports to Large Group
8:30-9:00 Networking (optional)

Readings: We would be remiss if we didn't discuss the Wall Street Journal op ed that created a firestorm in the CSR community. Our readings for this month include the article itself, responses from experts in the field and Fenton's thought provoking webcast featuring a panel discussion with the WSJ author and various CSR experts. To access and read/view these pieces PRIOR to the event (at no charge), go to the "More" tab and then click on "Files." The assignment is as follows:
  • The Case Against Corporate Social Responsibility by Dr. Aneel Karnani for the Wall Street Journal
  • Comments on The Case Against Corporate Social Responsibility (not all - just choose your own selection)
  • Fenton Webcast (register and view anytime on your computer at no charge, 1 hr 15 min)
  • Select at least 3 of the following blog responses:
    • Carol Cone, Edelman
    • Madeline Ravich, Justmeans
    • Leon Kaye, Triple Pundit
    • Perry Goldschein, SDialogue
    • Crane and Matten

How: The organizers will prepare thought provoking questions based on the selected literature to stimulate conversation. Attendees will be divided into groups to discuss questions and report learning outcomes to the larger group.

Give-A-Way: We are excited to be giving away a few copies of Wiley's The A to Z of Corporate Social Responsibility by Wayne Visser, Dirk Matten, Manfred Pohl and Nick Tolhurst at the event in anticipation of our November event reading. Those who answer the CSR trivia questions correctly and ring in the fastest will be the lucky winners. All other attendees will receive a discount code for purchase of the book. You don't want to miss the chance to obtain a free copy of this CSR dictionary/bible so mark your calendars!

Special Offer: All NY CSR Meetup members are entitled to a discount on the NetImpact professional association membership (new or renewal). Please bring $40 cash to the event to sign up for this spectacular deal (the largest discount they've ever offered). NetImpact is a global network of leaders who are changing the world through business. For more details, go to

Special Bonuses: All NY CSR Meetup members are entitled to the following professional conference discounts:

Further Details: Insight Tuesdays events are open to anyone, experts and novices alike. We invite topical experts to contact us about submitting their CSR literature to the group for discussion. Organizers Amy and Laura can be reached via the "Contact Us" button on the Meetup home page.
