Bard College is offering a $20,000, 2012-2014 scholarship for their new Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sustainability to eligible members of the New York Corporate Responsibility Meetup group. The scholarship equals approximately 33% of the full tuition ($10,000 will be awarded in year one; $10,000 will be awarded in year two). The award recipient will be admitted into the program starting Fall 2012.
The program is structured so that students can work up to 30 hours per week and enroll in the program simultaneously. Students will attend the program in person once a month from Friday morning through Monday afternoon and online every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00-10:00 PM. The program runs for two consecutive years with a two-month recess between each year.
A comparable scholarship opportunity is likely to be available for students entering the program in the Fall of 2013. Details are expected to be released through the NY CSR Meetup in the late Spring or early Summer of 2013.
Anyone associated with NY CSR Meetup, their partners or their sponsors are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. NY CSR Meetup members may nominate non-members. The winner of the scholarship must make a commitment to completing the two-year program.
The NY CSR Meetup Bard MBA Scholarship will be awarded based on the candidate’s demonstrated interest in corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues to include history of professional and volunteer work related to CSR, previous course work and accreditation and knowledge of the current core issues related to CSR. The application must demonstrate that the successful candidate understands the concept of CSR as a business model, is dedicated to a building the profession and plans to devote their career to this area.

Submit a 350 word essay that best describes why you are an excellent candidate for this $20,000 NY CSR Meetup Bard MBA Scholarship in Sustainability with details about your future career goals, your related work or volunteer experience, your beliefs about CSR and your vision for the field. Please also attach a résumé and ensure your contact information appears on all submitted documents. Submissions should be directed to Deborah Sprague at firstname.lastname@example.org and submitted no later than July 9, 2012. Applicants must also complete the application for the Bard MBA in Sustainability program by the same date.
The scholarship will be awarded to the candidate who both submits the most compelling essay and who is accepted into the Bard program. The selection committee composed of representatives from the Bard MBA program and the NY CSR Meetup, will announce the winner by July 20th. Only one scholarship will be awarded.
