Late breaking news - Luke Hoban from the Microsoft F# team will be in town, and has offered to come by the Meetup and talk about F#:

"This talk will introduce Microsoft's new language F#, a typed functional programming language for the .NET Framework that combines the succinctness, expressivity, and compositionality of functional programming with the runtime support, libraries, interoperability, tools, and object model of.NET. We'll take a look at why Microsoft is adding the language to the suite of those available on .NET, and at some of basic language constructs that make programming in F# a dream."

Also, we'll get back in to our usual mode of networking and talking with each other about the latest developments. If anyone has specific items of interest they'd like me to add to the agenda, please let me know.

Plus as always we'll have pizza.

NOTE NEW LOCATION AS WELL: We are meeting at Microsoft's offices, 1290 Avenue of the Americas, NOT at Lab49, for the June Meeting. In order to get in, you MUST RSVP with your full name, not a nickname, or else you won't be able to get in.

  “ I appreciated the speaker and the topic alot. But I was very frustrated for 2 reasons. 1) The Camera man decided to setup the camera and film right smack dab infront of the audience. Unfortunatley Mr. camera man has not been working out, so his corpulent body managed to block a large part of the screen. 2) Inane questions by the audience. It should be a general rule that the speaker gets the first 15 minutes of the presentation without interruption. 9 times out of 10, when you give a speaker enough time, he'll answer that question you are thinking about. A presentation like this should give the audience an overall picture as to the strengths and weaknesses of the language. It should not about small language syntax details. ”
