This month we have two short talks,

Taking control of your build with Bailey Ling: In this talk, Bailey will take you behind the scenes of Visual Studio and unveil the power of MSBuild. Learn how to write your own scripts, integrate with tools like PowerShell, and automate your world.

ShowUI with PowerShell MVP Doug Finke: Doug will do a quick demo of ShowUI, a module for quickly building WPF interfaces in PowerShell. It's a surprisingly succinct way of building UI's and a interesting use of PowerShell.

Two great presentations and speakers. However, for me personally, I was totally impressed with the ShowUI demo as PowerShell happens to be my favorite automation tool. With ShowUI, PowerShell can now be used for quick UI prototyping or perhaps some real apps. After all PowerShell is a first-class .Net language and runtime.

It exceeded my expectations. It is a shame I cannot participate often with this active group. Both talks were great and evenly paced.

Check out https://github.com/bling/msbuild-demo for the script file. It's filled with comments and will be useful as a quick start for anyone trying to get started with MSBuild. Any further questions feel free to ping me @blingcoder. Cheers!
