Re: [NY-HTML5-User-Group] JOBS or NO JOBS...

Hi Randy,

Pretty clear to me that it's a recurrent debate that surfaces when recruiters abuse their privileges. Dangling fictitious carrots to troll for clients has zero positive value for any software dev list. Giving subscribers unsolicited and imaginary job leads is just plain sick..

If you need confirmation just read a recent Beau Gould rant.

Job postings is a side issue for which, like you, Frank, I can see positives and negatives.

What's far more important is having good, topical presentations that help us, as a group, advance our ability to produce GREAT web.

Subject: [NY-HTML5-User-Group] JOBS or NO JOBS...

Seems we are split down the middle on JOBS posts or NO JOBS posts...
I certainly understand both sides.  Personally I'm seeing Meetup (and to a degree LinkedIn) turn into recruiter pens, but I want this to be a group decision.
How about we relegate JOB posts to our message board and disallow them to our mailing list?

Frank
