Help with Onboarding new users

From: Scott R.

We're developing an HTML5 platform for teaching languages from YouTube videos with subtitles. We've had a lot of great reactions to the platform, but it seems our users are having a really difficult time figuring out what to do and how to use it. Has anyone developed a good onboarding experience? What suggestions would you give us?
