Finally, I can announce the details of the first hardware startup meetup in NYC. It has been really challenging finding a location for the high number of RSVPs, but I guess that's a good problem to have ;-). And I want to thank all of you who have offered to help finding space.
We have a stunning line up for this first meetup! Adam Mayer, CTO of Makerbot, will be sharing their experiences getting Makerbot off the ground and 3D printers delivered to consumers. Then we'll have 3 start-ups pitch their companies: Radiator Labs, Little Bits and Social Bicycles. There will be plenty of time to mingle afterwards and get to know each other.
Just a note about the event. Given the high number of people attending, I wanted to ask if you could all donate $5-10 each at the event and make sure that you only RSVP if you can make it (so I can plan for pizza and beer). I need to pay for a security guard to be present at the building lobby (building restrictions) and the pizza and beer bill is higher than my meager budget can support. I will be working on getting us some sponsorship for meetups going forward (if anyone thinks they can help with this, please let me know), but your help for this first one will be greatly appreciated.
