Hey hardware folks,
I hope you're enjoying these sweet days of Summer. If you're complaining about the heat, just remember how cold it gets in Winter. Anyway, I just wanted to update you about a few great things that are happening in the hardware community in our city.
- The Start-up Leadership Program is accepting applicants into its[masked] class until August 15th, so if you’re interested in being a part of an incredible 6 month entrepreneurship program, you should consider applying. While this is for entrepreneurs in any industry, there have always been hardware startups involved. I was a fellow in the program in 2010 and then ran the program in 2011, and it was an incredible experience. To find out more, click here.
- The Open Hardware Summit is happening on September 27th at Eyebeam, so quickly get your tickets here. This is a great event with some stellar speakers, including Chris Anderson, editor of Wired magazine and chairman of DIY Drones, who may be responsible for the explosion in the number of flying objects hitting our skies (and trees) in the next few years.
- Another event worthy of highlight worthy is the Design for Manufacturing Summit, being held on September 20th in Dumbo. We have a 50% discount just for our meetup on offer which expires on September 1st.
- Finally, the second meetup has been announced for August 28th – RSVP has so far been a bit scant which I can only imagine is because you are on some dessert island sipping margaritas. So wipe off the sand from your hand, and get RSVP-ing!
If you have any suggestions or know of anything worth announcing on the hardware scene let me know.
