Two invite only events (and awesome meetup last night!)

Hey guys,

For those of you who came out to Brooklyn last night - what an amazing session. We saw KeenHome present their actuated vents, Will McLeod give us a master class on making glass go opaque cheaply with his SmarterShade technology,  Run n' Read showed us their device to help us, well, run and read while on a cardio machine, and woof-tastic Fitbark showed us their Fitbit for dogs. Pretty amazing venue too!

There are two stellar events coming up that are invite only, but being the entrepreneurs that we are, we've found  a few ways to help you go:

1) There is a great event hosted by the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels, to be held next Monday night, June 3rd. in Midtown. The event focuses on issues of fundraising for robotics startups, so if you want to understand how to raise money for your next robotic startup, this is the event for you. There will be 4 accomplished roboticists with demonstrations. For example, Eksobionics will showcase their exoskeletal device which is a walk-enabling robot and RE2 will display a small 7 degree of freedom manipulator. The Panel will be headed by Dr. Henrik I. Christensen ,  KUKA Chair of Robotics and the Director of Robotics at Georgia Tech. Panelists include: Nathan Harding, CEO & Co-Founder Ekso Bionics, Jorgen Pedersen, President and CEO RE2 and Stephen Gorevan, Chairman Honeybee Robotics. The event will be on June 3rd from 6:30-8:30 in midtown. More details are available here.

First come, first serve, so grab your free ticket here (there are about 10 left):

2) The folks from the SF Hardware meetup have announced a Hardware Summer Camp the weekend of June 15/16th at OATVentures!!! - an event for early-stage hardware entrepreneurs to get a crash course in all the skills you'll need to go from a prototype to retail shelves and beyond.

We've got some amazing speakers who've all build hardware companies before:

  • Ariel & Scott, founders of Flip Video
  • Dale Dougherty, founder of Maker Media
  • Eric Migicovsky, founder of Pebble
  • Dave Merrill, founder of Sifteo

The event is for founders of hardware companies only (see description on the form link below). We can only take 2 people max from each company, and we only have 100 slots - so be sure to Apply for a slot using this Google Form as soon as you can! Also, feel free to send this to your friends, Tweeps, Facebook "Friends", G+ers, Pinterest-eros, Instagrammerians, etc. We're casting our nets wide to find the best applicants!

Sincerely, if you are thinking about taking your prototype to product, this really is the event for you.

Have a good weekend and don't stop building!
