Hey hardwarians,

I hope the holidays have been good to you and that your resolutions all involve getting your product to market in 2014! If you listen to the wind chill close enough, you'll hear that the next hardware meetup is going to be on Jan 29th, and that you'll be able to RSVP early Tuesday morning. We're at eBay so get your tickets before they run out!

Announcements:

1) There is a great opportunity at the Techstars R/GA connected device accelerator for  talented industrial designer to spend the remaining 2 months of the techstars R/GA accelerator for connected devices as a "designer in residence" essentially a designer who is working with all the 10 selected companies getting them ready for the big demo day in March.
They are looking for someone who is good a visual design, very creative, good with aesthetics and who can actually model their designs in Rhino, Solidworks or similar. Mock-ups and prototyping is a big plus! It's a great, fast paced environment, and a chance to see what an accelerator like this is like from the inside. Folks can apply here.

2) Want to attend Solid, the new O'Reilley conference about IoT in San Francisco in May? Well how about attending at a SolidCon fellow, where you'll get a free ticket, assistance with travel expenses and a $1000 stipend? Apply quickly, as the deadline is January 15th!

3) We all need EE interns, right? Well the folks at Columbia University's Electrical Engineering department have a bunch of grad students looking to work at startups. Feel free to get in touch with Mark Tortora from their career development office - this is a great resource and access to a bunch of really talented grads. Reach out to Mark directly at [masked] or [address removed]

4) Brightlot, a funded hardware startup based in NY that pitched at one of our meetups, is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer. They have a live product and happy customers and have an outstanding team.  Current employees were formerly from SpaceX, IAC, Qualcomm, Novatel Wireless, Vodafone, US Army, Toyota, GM, Chrysler, and Hyundai. You can check out the job description here.

Have a great week and see you at the next meetup!
