Monthly MLP meeting

The meeting starts at 7:00.  The meeting will start with announcements and business and then the program will begin. The meeting is free.  All are welcome.

This month, join us as we get everyone involved in what will be our biggest effort over the next two months: Getting our candidates on the ballot! The night will start with a quick how-to on petitioning, including a question and answer period to clear up any doubts, and then we will all go out in the streets and put what we learned to use. The area around the restaurant is teeming with people just moseying  around with time to kill. It should be a perfect area for us to get some signatures.

Our goal as a party is to get our local Libertarian candidates on the ballot, and we can't do this without your help. Come join us and learn how it's done from some of the best petitioners in the state, Gary Popkin and Alton Yee.

See you there!

Well, how did everybody do? I got 10 signatures in about 25 minutes after arriving at Union Square. All of them were from people sitting on the steps or benches. Hope everyone else was successful as well.

Sitting people? I'll have to remember that.

I went to Washington square park on a Saturday at about 5. I approached 35 people in 1 hour and got 16 solid signatures. I feel parks are perfect because people are hanging around, generally interested in observing and interacting.

We must prevent this from happening in NY by getting many tens of thousands of extra signatures

I'll be there, else it will be as if I missed my own funeral. (We should all be so lucky.) BTW, I have these "petitioning kits" for sale. They consist of two (2) featherweight clipboards made of 9-1/8" x 15" foam boards, with pens attached by blue and red ribbons, so you can easily untangle them. You'll want to carry two clipboard so when you meet a couple, you could conveniently give one to each person. You'll also get two (2) extra pens. The kit cost USD $10.00 each. If you like to order one, drop me an e-mail with the subject, "Featherweight." ([masked])

I'll bring for you on Tuesday. You'll be glad to have it when you petition.

    Thanks much.

The actual petitioning sheets will be on hand as well right? If I bring my own clipboard I can just take a sheet?
