Monthly MLP meeting

The meeting starts at 7:00. We will start with announcements and business and then the program will begin. The meeting is free. All are welcome!

This month, join us as we welcome Steve James.

Steve James worked 40 years in the media, which includes documentaries, local PBS television, and corporate communications. He's the executive director of The Humanist Society of Metropolitan New York (HSMNY) as well as the head of the New York Chapter of the Ernest Becker Foundation (EBF). He's a co-founder of Contemporary Heroism Initiative (Chi), an undertaking to refresh social values which focus on the common good.

Steve’s presentation will examine our nation’s culture from the unique perspective of the groundbreaking work of Pulitzer Prize winning social scientist Ernest Becker, author of "The Denial of Death. "After his introduction, which includes “Humanism 101,” he will show how this approach drives the analysis of American culture, including its politics, to reach new conclusions about various effects it now has on us, its members. Steve invites Q&A throughout his presentation.

Our goal as a party is to get our local Libertarian candidates on the ballot, and we can't do this without your help! Please bring all completed petitions to this meeting so you can turn theminto Mark Axinn

See you there!

Please be advised:Due to an unexpected exigency, Steve James regrets he must cancel his presentation at the MLP's August 12 monthly meeting. He apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks us for the invitation. And he hopes we may reschedule him for a future MLP meeting.
