Get together on 9/11 and celebrate One World Trade Center.. the Freedom Tower

Anyone for deliziosa food from the land of Italy??

Especially after the ball we all had at that great Chinese place, why not gather now for something NYers dream about in their sleep: quality Italian food.

This time we get together for a very special occasion - to celebrate the new One World Trade Center:known as the Freedom Tower (which is the tallest building in NYC and 4th tallest in the world) and perhaps reflect briefly on the events back on 9/11/01.  Obviously everyone feels a little differently and if you want to stay silent, nobody will force you to talk. Share what and if you want.

I’ve scoped out a conveniently located and well-rated establishment with the odd name of Double Zero Napoletana.  http://www.doublezeroatl.com   It’s located in Sandy Springs on Roswell Road a stone’s throw from 285.  It’s family run, of course probably can’t compare to an eatery in say Bensonhurst  or Jersey City, but I can almost guarantee a eccellente divertimento time.

It’s contemporary Southern Italian ( not US Southern) with a large menu: everything from antipasti, salads, pizza, and pasta dishes to main entrees featuring veal, fish, shellfish with supposedly excellent deserts and yes, a full bar too. We will order individually.

They’re owned by the same group that owns Sugo and The Iberian Pig, so you can count on both good quality & a nice-sized plate of food.

I'm reserving the large table in the middle of the restaurant which should seat us all comfortably.

We'll order at 7pm.  I'll be there by 6:30. Plan on some traffic around the area. Come early, have a drink and schmooze with your fellow Metro New Yorkers.  Last meetup we were having so much fun talking before hand,we almost forgot to order!

As always if you are a yes but you can't make it, please change your RSVP.

I changed my RSVP from yes to no, as I'll be working late. I so appreciate this group for taking time to remember the importance of today. I worked in the World Trade Center, but overslept that morning and ended up going to our field office in the Bronx (not knowing what was happening until I got off the subway in the Bronx). Will definitely try to make the next event. Take care! :-)

We did have a moment of remembrance for our fellow New Yorkers tonight. We were very chatty before but then go somewhat quiet. You have an amazing 9/11 story. Hopefully we'll catch you on the next meetup.

That is so funny! Pat had a big smile on his face before he left too.. Lucky she didn't throw him out of the house! She must be getting soft living in the South.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
