Not sure... opportunity to meet new people, play some music maybe.
I have a career and music isn't it. It's a hobby, although a fairly serious one. I'd love to be someone's support player.
I am primarily an acoustic guitarist, good with flatpick and exploring hybrid (pick/fingers), and I do a lot of carrying bass notes over which I play up the neck. I can also play electric guitar and mess around on electric bass. I have a reasonable voice with a fairly broad range (um, about an octave below middle C to the A above middle C, more or less), but would benefit from singing with others more. I have a pretty good working knowledge of harmony, scales and odd time. Not as much as someone with five years of jazz lessons, but pretty solid.
Singer/songwriter, jazz, folk, progressive rock, blues, soul in some odd mixture. Non-exclusive list of players I sound like, to varying degrees: John McLaughlin, John Etheridge, Robert Fripp, Andy Summers, Richard Thompson, Alex Lifeson, Paul Weller, all the guys who played in Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell.
