The Hero With But One Face

In The Hero With A Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell discovers "astonishingly little variation in the morphology of 'the adventure,'" explicating just how fundamentally similar life is for all of us, regardless of gender, race, creed, or station.

This months presenter and NY Mythology Group member Dr. Francis Rode III, will take us deep into the realm of ancient wisdom, and inject us back into the present. He has modernized and secularized The Hero's Journey by comparing the quintessential hero's journey of Gilgamesh, and superimposed it onto the modern day story of his own personal journey.

His thought provoking treatise, implores that "we (all) must depart, wander through the wilderness of our unconscious, and return to society self-aware and strong in spirit.......whether we call the process maturation, salvation or quest."

Join us this month for the stimulating presentation, and a lively exercise and discussion that will give you insight into your own journey.

As an accomplished teacher, coach, instructor, trainer, consultant and business professional, Dr. Rode fully grasps and successfully implements the learning process in all situations, whether in the classroom, on the job or with individuals.
Dr. Rode recently earned a Doctor of Letters in the Humanities from Drew University; he also has an MA in Psychoanalysis from Centenary College, an MBA in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and an undergraduate degree with honors in Economics, also from Drew University.
His doctoral dissertation, The Heroic Journey of a Common Man: Benefiting Society One Journey at a Time, will be published in book format later this year.

Sorry but I need to be a "maybe" for tomorrow's event. If that's an issue, I understand if you need to take me off the RSVP list.
