Breakneck - Because We Can- Strenuous Intermediate Hike

Why 4PM?  Why not?  Plus the Production Crew always seems to add a special element whenever we do Breakneck.

Time to re-visit one of the most popular spots in the area. We will take the traditional route up and then branch off and circle back down to the right so that we end up by the catering hall.

Just enough to give you a workout but a little more than the traditional breakneck hike.

Estimate distance - In the 4 to 4.5 mile range

Please check with me if this is your first hike with the group. I just want to make sure that you are reasonably active and that this is within your comfort zone.

This hike features rock scrambles and an elevation gain of 1000 feet within the first mile.

From NYC take the George Washington Bridge to the Palisades Interstate Parkway (going north). Take the Palisades Interstate Parkway for about 40 miles until its end at the Bear Mountain Bridge. Cross the Bear Mountain Bridge and make a left onto Route 9D (north).

Take Route 9D north for about 11 miles passing through the town of Cold Spring. About two miles north of Cold Spring you will drive through an underpass. Park on the roadside just north of the underpass (GPS: N[masked], W[masked]).

Well behaved dogs welcome.

$1.00 fee for this event

Please remember to bring enough water for this hike.  (One bottle is not enough)  Hking boots are recommended.

Will update with phone number and details as we get closer to the date.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
