Prior to coming - check your directions.

Directions: Due to the large turnout and the limitations of the parking lot, we will have to carpool from a local restaurant. The Carriage House, that is located 2 miles from the trailhead. Please be there at least 15 minutes early, so we can make carpooling arrangements.

From Westchester - 684 North past the intersection of 84.  684 turns into Route 22. Go North for 7 miles to a traffic light (There is a diner on the corner.) Immediately after the light, turn left into the Carriage house parking lot and pull to the back of the parking lot.

Just a little fun fact from one of our conversations....the dry town in NY that I was thinking of is the Town of Neversink. There are about 12 in the state.

So the hike could go on, out fearless leader Steve did an early bailout with a challenged novice hiker. Thr rapids were really rippen and the cascades roaring. Mud was not that bad, but 2 of us did do a butt bounce. Group was small, conversations were excellent and we all went to the Carriage house for more good conversation. All in all a great day.

Beautiful day! We ended up being a small group, so that made for really nice conversations and opportunity to get to know each other! Not bad on the muddy end, and in spite of my early difficulties, I recovered well and had a blast! Thankfully the only thing I broke in my 1st fall was the plastic container that held my fruit. Ended with a great meal at the Carriage House!
