This is an upper level intermediate hike but I will be taking this at a slightly slower pace than usual. (We have some people in the group who have expressed an interest in moving up in their comfort zone so I am trying to accomodate that with this hike.)
Note: The Timp & Bald Mtns offer some of the best views within Harriman.
For this one you should be someone active with the group or active with a known local area group. (There are some ups on this one. If your not sure if you are up for this send me a separate e-mail.)
Route: We will hike from Rte 9W / US 202, through Doodletown to the Timp, then over to Bald Mtn and come down via the Cornell Mine trail.
Estimated Distance - 7.5 to 8.5 depending on final route - there is one small waterfall we can work in if time allows.
Trail map: NY/NJ TC #119. Trail map is available from NY/NJ TC website (http://www.nynjtc.org/catalog/maps) or REI or EMS.
