Diner: I need to know if you are going out to eat at the start of the hike. We have to call in a reservation before the hike.

Terrain: Easy to moderate carriage trails on rolling hills.

Distance: 4+ miles **

Time: 1  1/2+ hours**

**Options: After, 1  1/4 hrs group often splits into 2 groups:

1  1/2hr/4+ mile regular group

or

2 hr/5-6 mile longer option group.

Both groups eat together.

Pace: Moderate to brisk. Although this is a beginner hike, and nobody gets left behind, we walk at a very brisk pace! Please assess your ability to keep this pace before signing up.

Meeting location: We will meet at the the MAIN Parking lot for the Rockefeller State Park Preserve.

The Parking lot is located on the south side of Route 117 approximately halfway between Route 9A to the East and Route 9 to the West. There are gates and stone walls at the entrance, a large horse-trailer parking lot, a little toll booth, a visitors center and a bathroom building.

Pets: Friendly, well behaved dogs are welcome. The park requires dogs to be leashed at all times.  It is possible that we will encounter one or more horses with riders or carriages.

    24 spirited souls took on the near 90 degree humid weather with a positive flexible attitude. Avg speed of 3.3 mph, which considering it all is very good. 1st group out did 4.7+ miles, 2nd group out did 5.7 miles.
    Nice evening/sunset from the roof of the Moonriver cafe.
