Rockefeller Preserve Hike

5:45pm - will do a 2 hours, there is an early out 1/2 way through. Fast pace. We will shorten the hike to the announced 6 miles to avoid getting out in the dark as we have managed in recent past.

Dogs are welcome, but need to be on leash.

Terrain: Easy to moderate, mainly rolling hills.

Equipment: You should bring a change of footwear for your ride home

Distance: - 3 or 6 miles

Pace: Brisk. This is not a beginner hike, and nobody gets left behind, we tend to walk at a brisk pace. Please assess your ability to keep this pace before signing up.If not sure come and take the early out.

Meeting location: We will meet at the the MAIN Parking lot for the Rockefeller State Park Preserve.

The Parking lot is located on the south side of Route 117 approximately halfway between Route 9A to the East and Route 9 to the West. There are gates and stone walls at the entrance, a large horse-trailer parking lot, a little toll booth, a visitors center and a bathroom building

Cancellation notices: I will not cancel. Hike will adjust to conditions such as rain, snow.

Pets: Friendly, well behaved dogs are welcome. The park requires dogs to be leashed at all times. It is possible that we will encounter one or more horses with riders or carriages. They sometimes worry about dogs.
