Be very, very careful what version you buy of this. Not all the versions have the full Appendices included. And those appendices (7 & 8 -- the numbering picks up where the LotR EE Appendices left off) are terrific and worth every penny.

Here is a more comprehensive rundown of this (in my view) excessively complicated set of releases.... And even TOR.n seems to have not made it clear that the 5 disc sets include Blu-ray 3D (on 2 discs), Blu-ray 2D (on 1 disc) and Appendices (in Blu-ray on 2 discs)... but I surmise that what they mean by HD is Blu-Ray 2D??? I think WB gets the award for most confusticating, bebothering release of the year with this one!
