Sorry, I have a tendency of sending out Meetup emails without the specific event's name in the subject.. it must be ADD.. the email last night re: 'Sacandaga Lake' was for this event! We will stay the 3 nights here.. which is a short drive from SPAC, and reasonably short from trails, lakes and sites around the lower Adirondacks and Cooperstown, etc. Hopefully the 5 of us can still make it! Please let me know if you have any questions, and pls Paypal me $10 to ensure your spot at the campsite!! best, Mike

After a few setbacks the past few weekends as far as turnout, hopefully you guys are still looking forward to Americanarama Festival and two laid back nights of camping and day hikes in the Adirondacks! in the spirit of Woodie Guthrie, here is a tune that won a Grammy for one of two albums penned musically by Billy Bragg and Wilco in the late 90s, introduced by then Senator Barrack Obama at FarmAid 2005 in Illinois http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmR32cFfGTQ

As promised, and in honor of Bob Dylan's 72nd birthday this week, we go back to 1975's Rolling Thunder Revue for an acoustic staple from Dylan's 'middle years,' or the mid/late-70s, from "Blood on the Tracks."

I've taken it upon myself to post a weekly live clip of an Americanarama Festival performer or an honorary artist in the spirit of the the Catskills, Adirondacks and preservation of the Great Outdoors.. so without further ado, I present Volume 1 of the High Peaks Listening Lounge series.. a My Morning Jacket staple, "The Way That He Sings" performed by the supergroup the New Multitudes at Webster Hall in NYC on March 12, 2012....Enjoy, and turn it up and support your local folk musicians!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8jWXp8h3CU

Hi! Adirondacks are definitely more advanced beginner / intermediate, but we don't all go at a super fast pace, so you should be fine!
