NYC Cassandra User Group Message Board › Cassandra will have a very busy summer of 2011!
White Plains, NY
Firstly, everyone should congratulate themselves! 138 members is very impressive. We have had 2 presentations thus far and they were both great. The group is having two events in the next 30 days,
Brisk: Cassandra based Hadoop
Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 6:30 PM
Aol Ventures - 670 Broadway New York, NY
This is a joint meetup with NoSQL NYC and you should sign up here.
Next, Eric Tamme is going to do a presentation:
Distributed data replication in the cloud: Cassandra Network Topology Strategy
Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 6:30 PM
Media6 Degrees - 37 East 18th Street 8th Floor New York, NY
This should be very interesting as Cassandra's consistency model really shines in multiple datacenter scenarios. Experience of someone working with a configuration like that in production is invaluable. We announced it pretty late in the game so I wanted to blast out this email to make sure all where aware of it.
The Apache Cassandra Summit in San Francisco will be happening on June 11th. I will be headed out there. If any other New Yorkers are going to make it get in contact with me!
Last but not least, is a !shameless plug! for my (first) book, Cassandra High Performance Cookbook . https://www.packtpub.... . Publish date should be late June to early July. It is not totally shameless because this is a Cassandra meetup group.
Thanks all, Hope you can make it to one of more of the events!
