This group is to get everyone with their small lever harps out into the world to share tunes, trade tech. tips and just play and have FUN with Celtic and Irish tunes...if you want to bring some classical or your own music that is cool. But you have to be willing to teach it to the other harpers.

My name is Mia Theodoratus ( www.miatheodoratus.com )and I teach at the Irish Arts Center. The purpose of this group is to give everyone with a small harp a supportive community to grow musically. In the first hour I can give tech pointers, but the second I would like to be playing tunes, reels and original music.

In the summer we meet in the City's Community Gardens and Open Spaces. If you have a place that is public and you think it would be fun to play at, let me know!

Can resist telling everyone about the masters class with one of my favorite harpers Patrick Ball. This is worth putting on the calender and coming into the city. Read more

What members are saying

Nothing is worst than watching your beautiful lap harp sit in a corner and grow cobwebs.

“Hi Nancy! this group is mainly beginners. We get together and play whatever we are working on, declare goals for the next meeting and then try our hands at playing together. The only thing is that you do have to bring a small harp... If you just want to stop by and check it out, you don't have to bring a harp :) all the best, mia www.miatheodoratus.com”
