All day Living Forgotten Realms RPGA meetup. DMs wanted. RSVP with what specific time slots you can make, what adventures you are willing to DM, what characters you want to play, and what adventure codes you want to play.

DMs that plan to DM **at this meetup** will be given priority seating and choice of adventures played.

Note - There are a couple players / DMs that may or may not be able to RSVP quickly, but I'm saving seats for them. Please watch this space for updates regarding what players and DMs are assigned. RSVPing early does not guarantee you a seat for this meetup.

Note 2 - This is for Living Forgotten Realms. If you don't know specifically what "Living" Forgotten Realms is, there's more information at the Wizards website. Please do not RSVP unless you know what Living Forgotten Realms is.

Planned schedule:

Approx 9 AM - 1 PM:
DM: AndySAE, WATE1-1 (lvl 1-4) Players: Nick, kentmagus, Sam, klaus, G.S. Zhang
DM: Gary D, CORE1-3 (lvl 1-4) Players: T Michael, David Abrahams, jerseydevil, Andrew, Douglas Pope

Approx 1 PM - 5 PM:

DM: Sam, DALE1-1 (lvl 1-4) Players: WalK, Thomas, Don, Bailey, Gary D
DM: klaus, WATE1-1 (lvl 1-4) Players: Andrew, AndySAE, Shaun H, Nick

Approx 5 PM - 9 PM :
DM: Mat, CORM1-1 (lvl 1-4) Players (full): AndySAE, Nick, Shaun H, WalK, Jim, Sam
Extra player: klaus, Douglas Pope

Please make sure to mention WHICH SPECIFIC SLOTS you can attend. If you don't, I'll be sure to leave you off the list - Jim

**NOTE** - people that play in the RPGA D&D games that are organized through this Meetup are expected to DM. The more you play, the more you are expected to DM. If you are a new player and play four adventures in one meetup (say at this Saturday meetup), you'll be asked to commit to DM almost immediately, either for the Tuesday group or for a Saturday meetup.

Seriously. We don't care if you're new to the game, or if you can't afford the books, or whatever; if you play, you *must* DM, that's all there is to it. If you prefer to settle in slowly, just play one or two games a week as you adjust to the system. But if you want to play a lot, like for this Saturday meetup, get prepared to DM, because you're going to have to.

had a blast. let's do it again , on a regular basis the group was helpful to me. I've been mostly used to DM-ing, and I'm a rusty player not very familiar with 4th ed. ruleset as yet.. See you guys again soon.

Gary D and Andy, I may be a few minutes late for 9:00 am as I have to drop my daughter off at her camp bus.
  • Posted Jun 26, 2009 4:12 PM
T Michael - I'm playing a lvl 1 eladrin wizard, but I could do swordmage, sorcerer or ranger depending on the group (all are rolled).

I don't have my Herald-level DM license yet, but I'm in the process of getting it and should have it in time for the July 3rd game, which is the next one I can attend. So, it looks like my level 1 tiefling rogue will be adventuring during (hopefully) all three slots. His father would be so proud.

Also, I'll bring some RPGA cards too just in case they're needed.

T Michael: I'll bring my level 4 dwarven cleric and I'll also bring a level 1 half-orc two-blade ranger in case we need a striker instead of a leader.

The 5PM slot seems to be what I'll DM. But I don't have an adventure. If someone could print out and adventure, I'll bring my stuff and run it.

I'll be bringing an Int-Dex swordmage 3, a Cha-Int bard 2 (I think it's 2 anyways), or a 1st level character of some sort. I predict the bard, as I don't see any Charisma-based characters in the adventure. Still, we'll see what happens.

So I have time to understand the party for CORE 1-1 at 1:00, could the players let me know what characters they intend to play (level, race, class, and build). I presume Mat will be his 4th level Dwarven Cleric and Shaun H his 2nd level Shifter Rogue. Jim are you playing the formidable Eladrin Swordmage or a different character? Andy are using your fighter or stacked 4th level wizard? Klaus, will it be your killer Level 4 halfling fighter or Level 1 sorcerer? And David, what have you rolled?

Andy, switched you and Thomas. You're on CORE1-1 now. Also, I have RPGA cards, but I may not be able to come in until 1 PMish. I'll come as soon as I can, though.

Hey guys... If someone is willing to swap, I was really hoping to play CORE1-1, instead of DALE1-1. If not, I understand. (figure it doesn't hurt to ask).... P.S.- Anyone that doesn't have an RPGA card for the 9AM game, remember to stick around for 5 minutes after the game to get a card; I don't have any right now...

    Thanks for stepping up, Sam!

Benel, can you DM in the 5 to 9 slot, and I'll need to know what specific time slots you're signing up for. Because, just as it says in the meetup description, otherwise, I won't put you in for anything.

I'll run Dale1-1 at the 1-5 slot. As much as i want to play with T Michael again, i've done Core1-1 and will let someone else have the play slot rather than toss a new character at it.

By the way, if you've only DMed once for the Meetup so far, think about doing it again. You start at 5 points, lose 1 point for each game played, and get 5 points for each game DMed. If you're around 5 points, your seating priority is not great - the organizers try to make sure new players have seats, but those that have played/DMed for a while have to go in the pool with everyone else.

Walk's DM score is 14, Nick 13, Shaun H 10. They *could* DM, but I'd rather give other players the opportunity to DM, as players that don't DM, very quickly will find that they won't be assigned seats to play. We'll use Nick as a DM if we have to, but I'd rather those that have played games step up. It'll be better for them in the long run anyways.

At this point (4:10 on Thursday), I'm counting 5 RSVP's for 9-1, 11 for 1-5, and 7 for 5-9, not counting the DM's for those 3 games. Looks like it would be good if Nick could run BALD1-1 in the 1-5 slot. We could just about make a second table for 5-9 as well.

WATE1-1 Heirloom: An old tutor asks the adventurers to recover a stolen family heirloom for a ?down-on-their-luck? Waterdhavian noble family. Be prepared...

WATE1-1 is in my hands and I am preparing as we speak! Look forward to CORE1-1, and it seems there may be a grass roots movement for BALD 1-1, which I would happily play with my Fighter2. There is a fancy prize at the end of that one that I am keen to have...

    •  I laughed, I cried, I p'd my pants. Oh and it was better than "Cats".... DM's I had in TMichael and Mat were stellar and I am eager for more. Had fun DMing as well. The tent of sex was recovered, but not before our warlock offered to show that female halfling his rod of dark reward. The timing was impeccable and funnier for not being planned... PS- No more cursing. That could get us booted. I'll keep that in mind next time I want the pub to sing the patented "DRINK! FUCK!" song (I said it in a low/discreet voice, but no excuses)...
    •  Enjoyed myself quite a bit, both Andy and Andrew ran good games. Hopefully this trend of Satuday multi-game days will continue, i enjoy the more experienced atmosphere from many of the players.
    •  lets make it a regular thing!
    •  Fun game with Klaus. Hope I did okay DMing...it was only about the third time I've done it at all, and over a year since I that!
    •  More than 10 people came to the Meetup, but I only counted 10 at any one time. The day of the week and the time of day were excellent and made for a fun day. Sixteen hours well spent.
