Intro:
Come and play Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition in the Living Forgotten Realms RPGA campaign. Have a good time, meet new people.

New Players:
This is an RPGA LFR (Living Forgotten Realms) 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Meetup.

More information about the RPGA: here and here. Make sure to download the Character Creation Guide 1.9.

More information about Living Forgotten Realms: here

More information about 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons: here

Please see this link for more info on organized play.

To get started, you’ll need to make a level 1 character. You can only play in a level 1-4 adventure until your character(s) gains enough experience in Living Forgotten Realms games to play in the level 4-7 (or level 7-10 or higher) adventures. If you don’t have an RPGA card, post a comment and make sure someone brings a blank RPGA card for you, as you’ll need one.

New DMs:
Every player that comes to the RPGA LFR D&D Meetups is expected to take turns DMing – not right away for new players, but even new players can expect to be asked to DM by the 3rd or 4th time. Other players/DMs at the Meetups will be able to help you; just ask around. You can find more information here.

How It Works:
When RSVPing, include the RACE, CLASS, and LEVEL of your character(s). This helps us determine where to place players. Remember that you can't play the same adventure with the same character twice; if you know the adventure's being played that week, make sure you mention that you can't play *that* adventure with which *specific* character. No specific DM or adventure requests; please only mention what adventures you CANNOT play with a particular character.

Remember that RSVPing doesn't automatically mean you have a seat. The Meetup description can and often does change to the last minute, and players may be reassigned at the Meetup itself as needed for legal tables.

RPGA D&D tables must consist of 1 DM and 4-6 players. There cannot be less than 4 or more than 6 players at a table.

Anyone that RSVPs for a guest needs to include the guest’s first and last name. This is so we can determine the guest’s seating priority. If we can’t figure out who a guest is, that guest won’t be assigned a seat.

We try to get DMs to confirm date/time/adventure code being DMed about a week in advance. DMs, PLEASE RSVP a week in advance so players can know how many games to expect. About 1-2 days before the Meetup event, we set tables based on seating priority points, player requests, and as our (James Leivers and Jim Lee) judgment warrants. DMs and brand new players have priority.

If you want a meetup scheduled for a particular day, time, and place, put the information and the request for a LFR RPGA D&D Meetup on the Message Board. Try to give a couple weeks advance notice if you can, so DMs and players can sign up. Remember, though, that *we’re* not going to push for DMs for *your* particular event. If *you* want something to happen, *you* have to make it happen; ask for DMs yourself!
Seating Priority Points:
For the LFR RPGA D&D Meetups, everyone starts with 5 points, earning 5 points for each game DMed, losing 1 point for each game played. Players scheduled to play lose 2 points for cancelling RSVPs with less than 48 hours notice before the Meetup. DMs scheduled to DM lose 4 points for cancelling RSVPs with less than 72 hours notice before the Meetup. The higher your points, the better your priority for seating will generally be when seating is determined, and vice versa. You can find your score here., and more about what it means and why we do this here.

0 to -4 points: You can be ejected from playing a game at any time; the fact that your score’s that low is reason enough. You won’t get kicked if you’ve made serious offers to DM before the Meetup – not vague promises, but identifiable times, locations, and adventure codes that you were willing to commit to in the near future.

-5 points: You won’t be seated as a player until you DM for the RPGA LFR D&D Meetup.

Games as of 7/13:

TYMA1-1, lvl 1-4; DM: AndySAE 8; players:
MOON1-1, lvl 1-4; DM: Matt; players: Michael, James H, Ben Baxley, John

TYMA1-2, lvl 4-7; DM: Manuel; players: Brian 5, David Abrahams 0, Shaun H 5, Joshua Kronengold 2
MYRE1-2, lvl 4-7; DM: James Leivers; players: Gary D 0, Andrew 10, wangka 7, Jim 39, Rob R 14. Possible Players: Nathan Meyers 6, T Michael 6

AndySAE - if there are enough DMs for players in the level 1-4 range for this meetup, you can play TYMA1-2 or MYRE1-2 or DM as you choose.

What is the deal with 'Gith Plate'? Do you need to gain access to that or if you get "+3 armor" as a reward can it be +3 Gith Armor?

Sorry about having to leave - Thanks James for the adventure; it was quite fun.

Just want to mention to James that I might be late a little.

Sure, wangka, already had you in at MYRE1-2. You can switch to TYMA1-2 as you please.
  • Posted Jul 13, 2009 9:28 PM
I can play either 4-7 (or any of the 1-4) if you need to round out a table.
  • Posted Jul 13, 2009 9:08 PM
OK Jim, I'll take a seat at MYRE1-2. Thanks.
  • Posted Jul 13, 2009 7:45 PM
(or I could prep DRAG1-1 and run it, if needed; LMK. Don't have a lot of time to prep, but LFR mods are short)

My Avenger made 5th level at Dexcon, so if there's room I'd rather play in a 4-7. I don't think I've played in either TYMA1-2 or MYRE1-2.
  • Posted Jul 13, 2009 2:01 PM
So I could switch you to MYRE1-2 instead, Rob. Comment if you're back in.

I have already played TYMA 1-2 so I will sit this week out. Have fun.

    Organizer
Hey people that are going to play in my game. There might be someone there videotaping it for a few minutes. They are doing market research for WOTC. If anyone has a problem with it please let me know in advance. I'll also be aiming to play in the outdoor section near the fountain. Weather says sunny, no rain.

Dwarf Fighter 7 for MYRE. At least I hope he'll stay 7th...

I'll play any lvl 4-7 mod with my Battle Cleric 5th lvl (multi-class fighter)

I'd like to run thru James' My Realms adventure. See what kind of nasty he can devise. I have an Invoker 5 (maybe 6) that I can play in this. I think I also have a Rogue 5 or 6 (unless he levels out of range this weekend).

Just wanted to also give props (yo) to the organizers. It's often an underappreciated and tasking job. I think the current system is pretty good - it encourages people to contribute by DMing and gives credit to those who do. I like that it's spelled out clearly and it's pretty open.

I'd like to play either DRAG1-1, WATE1-1 or TYMA1-1. I haven't played any of these mods. I'd be playing my Elf Fighter.
  • Posted Jul 8, 2009 8:12 PM
I am going to DM DRAG1-1.

Also, if it turns out there's a need for me to DM a higher level mod, I can do that. Just let me know at least a couple days in advance, and suggest something specific.
