NYC DSLR Meetup Canon Expo Edition

UPDATE: Since the Intrepid museum will be closed at the time of the end of the expo I have chosen a location for all of us who have survived the long day to meet a few blocks north of the Javits Center at Lucky Strike Lanes where there is a very large space and a bar and food as well as bowling if anyone wanted to do so. This is going to be the biggest meetup yet with stars like Philip Bloom and Vincent Laforet possibly dropping by. I look forward to seeing our regular members as well as making new friends with whomever is in town for the expo. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Any questions please tweet me at @quintanomedia and don't forget the official hash tag for the meetup is #nycdslr and include #canonexpo as well.

im planning on making the meetup on the http://www.intrepidmu... so as of right now we will meet in front of the jacob javitz center until the plans are more solid. Were hoping to gather many Canon DSLR professionals to join us after the expo on Thursday September 2nd. I and a few others will be attending the expo during the day so we can inform you of any news that happens that day.
We will also have a special guest Mitch Aunger the creator of The Planet 5D Blog http://blog.planet5d.... with us as well http://www.twitter.co....

Great. Any idea of the time yet Anthony? I think many of us will try to time our Canon Expo seminars, where possible and according to topic, so that we can go directly to the Meet-Up. Hopefully some of us can attend the Expo together...I'm coming from Brooklyn and will likely go to the early afternoon session.

This meetup is going to be HUGE! and a lot of fun. But keep in mind this meeting will just be a meet and great no shooting involved. Many big names will be coming to this meetup. But We hope to have the next meeting at one of our members studios with volunteer models and we can go through some lessons there. If you are a DSLR owner who has questions feel free to bring them to the canon expo meetup as well. Can't wait to see everyone there! Bring your business cards!

    Hi Folks,
Questions: I understand there may be a move to the Intrepid after the Canon Expo. Since the Expo begins around noon, if we're planning on a meet around 5 to 6pm, we're looking at long day that will likely require a pit stop for food and drink. Any thoughts in the area if we don't eat in the Javits Center?

Also is there a group rate on admission to the Intrepid, and are they ok with bringing camera's, etc.?

The Canon 4K is amazing. Hope this prototype becomes a reality at a reasonable price. The picture quality is like a RED ONE.

This happened to be the most enjoyable meetup thus-far. Met a lot of great new people also met people I knew only from twitter in person.
Had some good laughs and in-depth conversation about the wedding film industry.
Many thanks to John Hyland and Anthony Quintano and everyone who attended.

Hey gals and guys! It was great meeting all of you tho I don't think I managed to actually meet all of you :(

I'm still trying to recover - the expo was short, but my stars I was standing for 2 days straight. Sure hope to get back to NYC soon.

Thanks to Anthony and John and everyone else who helped and showed up. And thanks to Philip for arranging the bowling.
