NYC Data Business Meetup #6

This month, we continue our exploration of the data landscape by focusing on high profile infrastructure and analytics startups. RJ Metrics offers what Fab.com’s CEO called “the best business intelligence dashboard for startups on the market”. Custora offers a SaaS that tells online retailers and web apps which of their customers are most valuable, and suggests actions to keep them. Datastax and VoltDB are two key players in the NoSQL database ecosystem.

Another well-run event. I liked that the speakers talked not only about their own companies, but also about the larger tech/data system/market. A few too many acronyms for the uninitiated, but overall great.

It's my first meetup, so I have no comparisons. The presentations were captivating and useful

Missed the presentations; interesting post-presentation Q&A; great networking.

The event was well-organized and it hit two of the current buzzwords: Big Data & Cloud. But it was a bit of a strange pairing: 2 big data platforms and 2 SMB analytics SaaS platforms. The format (10 min presos + ample Q&A time) was effective.

Well done. Great presentations and interaction. It would be good to get more high level folks to attend as there is a bit too much job hunting going on.

The speakers did a nice job but I can't say I learned anything new or useful vis-a-vis big data.

Unable to attend tonight's meeting due to proposal deadline. Hope this allows a space for an up and coming innovator to learn.

I'd love to! Will be coming from work, so can't make it too early, but would love to get to know people a little.
