(We're investing a lot of time and effort building a great community here so it's important that we know at least a little bit about our members. Please answer all questions, even if briefly!). #1: Why are you interested in "the business of data"?

Data is the lifeblood of today's information-driven organizations. The ability to analyze it and extract valuable insights is far more interesting that how you store it or where it sits in general. The leaders who effectively capitalize on Big Data and Analytics will be the value drivers of the next business phase – as “big data” becomes “just data”, part of the norm. The Data Scientist will be a valued member of the team, but not the center of it – as business analysts continue to be the visible devotees to data that can also show how it drives value.

Where do you work (company, institution) or study (school) and what do you do?

Kognitio Makers of the Kognitio Analytical Platform, a pioneer in the field of Big Data Analytics in the Cloud. Our software makes advanced analytics easier with MPP in-memory scale-out and in-database code execution of complex and predictive analytical algorithms. I am the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Kognitio - the lead spokesperson, blogger, social media zealot and strategician for the company who invented the in-memory analytical platform, first bringing it to market in 1989.

Please confirm your first name and last name (we need to create security badges for the meetups)
