Introduction
Hi, my name is Amanda
Why would you like to join this group?
I have enjoyed taking photographs for a long time, especially when traveling but always used a point-and-shoot camera. This past Christmas, I was given a digital SLR and it's opened a whole new world to me! I would like to learn understand this camera and how to use it to the best of it's (and my own) abilities.
What are some aspects you would most like to improve on in your photography?
I am really just starting out, so would really like to start with the basics and branch out from there.
What are your favorite subjects to photograph?
Right now, inanimate objects, because they don't seem to mind staying still while I play with the flash or focus or anything like that! Also, scenery. I would like to eventually be able to take meaningful pictures of people going about their daily lives, because that is what is hardly ever captured.
What days and hours are you available to meet for two-hour workshops?
After work, Monday through Friday as well as weekends. I guess time would depend on location (I work and live in southern Brooklyn, so it takes me about an hour to get to Mid-town).
What topics would you like to see covered in a workshop?
Basics, playing with shadow and light, and beyond!
