If you never done timelapse photography/video before, here is your chance. We will timelapse the setting sun on the NYC skyline at Gantry State park as it goes from sunset to twilight.
You will need a camera which has a built in timelapse function like the Nikon D800 or D7000. (Many Nikon's have this, check your manual so see how to use it). For many Canons, you will need to have to have a intervalometer or download the Magic lantern firmware and install in the camera to enable this feature (I don't have a Canon so I can't tell you how to do it, follow the instructions on the Magic Lantern website http://www.magiclantern.fm/index.html ). If you are not able to do timelapse, you can try hyperlapse photography/video, you just need a sturdy tripod and a camera that can shoot manually. Here is an example...
Dress warm just in case. Afterward, we will walk over to a local pizzeria or cafe and review what we shot and any tips to share.
Remember folks, this is not a beginners group, you will have to do your own homework. Click the hyperlink to the resource page (Click Here). I suggest you google "timelapse tutorial" and "hyperlapse tutorial" to learn how to do these techniques. Also remember that it takes time to get good at any endeavor, practice, practice, practice.
Note: Forgot about Daylight Savings Time that ends the first weekend in November. So the sun will set at 4:45 on Saturday. I adjusted the meetup time from 5pm to 4pm. Please make note of the change
