Membership Policy and Liability Waiver for NYC Experimental Photography Meetup Group
Our goal is to create great photos and videos and have fun doing it. Although there are usually no big problems during the meetups, sometimes unexpected and unwanted things can come up. We are more interested in the quality rather than the quantity of the membership. So, based on previous experience and stories from other meetup groups, following these rules are a necessary part of membership.
1- Do not falsely RSVP. We take NO SHOWS very seriously. We understand that plans can change; we simply request that you change a 'yes' RSVP to a 'no' if you cannot make an event. This is especially important for events with waiting lists. If you do not show up for an event that you RSVP, a NO SHOW tag will be added to your profile. People who falsely RSVP take up slots which prevent others who can legitimately participate from doing so. If you cannot make it, change your RSVP by 9am the day of the event (I will be printing up a list at 8am on the day of the meetup). Any changes after 8am are counted as NO SHOWS.
2- NO SHOWS will be able to "pay off" their NO SHOW status by paying $10.00 at the next event they attend. If you are hit with a second NO SHOW you will be banned from the NYC Experimental Photography Meetup for no less than 6 months (and have to pay up for your NO SHOWS if you choose to rejoin).
3- WALK INS We have to limit the size of many of our meetings because we can only accommodate a certain amount of people. If you walk in without RSVPing, you will have to pay up $10 if there is space. This policy is to discourage this practice.
4- All members must use a clear, identifiable photo of themselves before RSVPing for any event. Picture of celebrities, animals, dolls, cartoon figures or the like are not acceptable. Some events are held in a private residence and we want to see who is coming and have a record of attendees. Periodically, I will expunge all members not having a clear personal photo.
5- Please behave appropriately with one another. People who repeatedly behave inappropriately (overly rude, anti-social behavior; overly sexual aggressiveness; drugged or drunkenness during meetings; causing divisions and discord in group) will be permanently banned from the group.
6- No Solicitation Policy - Once in a while, we get members who join with the sole intention of promoting their own agenda. Solicitation / spam is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, message board posts or direct emails to other members. We reserve the right to remove any member for solicitation.
7- IMAGES - We usually take pictures of members at events and them post them on the site. All pictures posted will remain on the site even if a members leaves or has been remove from the group.
Please note: All money collected will go to the running of this meetup group
