Hi all. I am a journalist with a passion for analogue photography and visual culture. I've been taking photos with film and developing myself for about three years. My photos can be found at http://vincenttri...
or on flickr.
I have always loved photographs, but it took a push to get me to taking my own photos. One day my editor just told me to meet him at a train station (this was in Japan). I did. He shoved a clunky old medium format Mamiya 6x6 with the waist level viewfinder and no light meter. "Just use the fucking force," he said, handing me a few rolls of Delta 3200. We shot a street performance festival. What came out blew me away. The fast black and white film made everything int shadows of silver, and flashes of white light. The bokeh and imperfection of our photos really set it apart from the near-identical shots that every other DSLR slinger around us made. Not perfect at all, but special. No instant gratification, a time capsule buried in magic potions and opened by light. I shoot digital for work, but film is always a pleasure. Film requires time and love for every precious frame. I feel that because of this, I take better pictures with film.
It's nice. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgable.

Good meeting ya last night!
Hi Vincent,
I am interested in having you do a little film developing demo to my group...NY Street Photography...I
will make a proposal for a date at my house and we can do it soon. I am in Brooklyn with lots of space for darkroom work...I used to load my dev. tanks with a darkroom apron around my arms...
Vincent, welcome to Photo Walks. I hope you will enjoy being an active member here.
