What we’re about
I see so many great food-related festivals and events going on in NYC throughout the year, but I believe I probably miss out on even more that I never hear about! So I thought it would be fun to put together a group to keep each other informed of events and hang out at them. For example, I just realized that I missed the Lobster Rumble a few weeks ago, but will be 100% attending the upcoming Bacon Bash and Cheesemonger Invitational! (as of 6/23/12)
Please feel free to schedule events, and/or send me your event ideas and I will try to organize them all. Please note the costs of each event, everyone is responsible for buying their own tickets.
Update (Fall 2012): I wont' be updating this group until the spring when more events come around and more people are up for coming out to them. In the meantime, I highly encourage you to follow Dave Cook's Eating In Translation Blog, Street Fairs category: http://www.eatingintranslation.com/street_fairs/

ABOUT the ROSE AFTERNOON TEA
The Rose Afternoon Tea Experience will be offered on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, from 1 pm to 3 pm, in the Blue Cottage, once home to multiple purposes, including the mansion's Laundry facilities and her on-site school.Step into the charmingly appointed parlor and experience this favored and treasured event as British high society did in the early 19th century and was later adopted in many regions of the world. Guests of the Rose Afternoon Tea will experience a cream tea, which encompasses tea, scones, clotted cream, and jam.
Intended as an engaging and social occasion, the Rose Afternoon Tea will be hosted by myself, alongside with Lyndhurst, to share the origins, traditions, and etiquette of the long-favored British afternoon tea service and include several tea blends from my Puddings and Biscakes tea line, now available in the Lyndhurst Mansion store.
This tea experience will begin at the Welcome Center and walk up to the historic mansion where a shortened tour will be given focusing on the Dining Room and the Kitchen. In the Kitchen, the group will be the first to experience the newly created display of the chinaware from Lyndhurst's collection.
Tickets sell fast at Lyndhurst and as this is a limited engagement you are encouraged to book soon.
Hope to see you there!
