Free Medieval Festival at Fort Tryon Park

The Medieval Festival brings to life the customs and spirit of the Middle Ages. Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park is transformed into a medieval market town decorated with bright banners and processional flags. Performers, guests and festival goers dress in medieval costume. Visitors are greeted by authentic medieval music, dance, magic, and minstrels, as well as jugglers and jesters. The afternoon is concluded with a thrilling joust between four knights on horseback. Costumed vendors will be on hand to demonstrate and sell a wide variety of medieval crafts as well as food and drink. Link for the 2009 Medieval Festival at Fort Tryon Park

I created this second meet up on the same day as the Cloisters Museum meet up for those who would prefer to only attend the Festival and skip the museum. For sake of convenience, the festival meet up we will gather at 2:30 outside the front entrance of the Cloisters Museum which is located right there in the park where the festival is taking place. This event will be fun for all ages, so bring all of your friends and family as you like. We will have unlimited sign up for the festival which I cannot do for the museum. I will give out my cell number to Yes RSVPs on the day of the meet up to make sure that we all connect up. I can't wait! The festival schedule is from 11:30 until 6PM, but I cannot attend the whole time. I do encourage everyone to attend the whole event if your schedule allows.

The festival was crowded, but I had a great time and made some new friends.

Has anyone been to the park before? Is it wheelchair friendly? I don't know if I should take the wheelchair? or the Walker? If there aren't places to sit, then I'd probably need the wheelchair. But if it's all dirt and grass, I'd probably need the walker. I'm soooo confused.
