Let's show the love and volunteer as captains on tandem bicycles to give rides to the visually impaired for Intandem.org, a non-profit that provides access to tandem bicycle rides to visually impaired or otherwise disabled athletes YEAR-ROUND! Sign up to volunteer today!
"You can lock your bikes in the trailer and we'll all ride tandems up to 90th and 5th where the stokers will be waiting. New Captains, RSVP ([masked]) for more information and to setup a pre-ride training. "
8:45AM: Meet in Central Park at the Boathouse Cafe for coffee.
8:55AM: Ride to New Captain Orientation.
9:00AM: Orientation begins promptly at 90th and 5th Avenue within Central Park.
As you are going to be the driver for a visually impaired passenger on a tandem bicycle, riders who are skilled, confident, and outgoing are best suited for this volunteer gig.
***If you have never ridden a tandem bicycle, then arriving on time for the 9AM orientation is a MUST!
What to Bring: helmets, warm layers, water, locks for bikes, money for incidentals, and your best smile!
RSVP: [masked]. As this is an InTandembike.org gig, we all MUST RSVP to this e-mail address!
If you ever needed an excuse to get out of bed on a winter morning and ride, can you think of a better one than this one?!
We'll be there, join us!
