Great set of presentations; Google drive: powerful product, but searching and classifying personal info...well, it is the "cloud", caveat emptor??

Great to have introductions from developers on new Google APIs (YouTube Direct lite & Drive) and their design philosophy for the API. Enlightening.

Hi, Do we need anything installed in our systems before attending the meet and any OS requirements?

Im attending to hear about the Google Drive API. Im also playing with Go on GAE. While this meetup wont be about GAE so much, I think the the question highlights a definite need to have some kind of resource that covers using the Google APIs from a GAE app. We have lots of separate docs for each API, and for the GAE services and for each language/enviroment supported on GAE but there's nothing out there that ties it all together. Maybe this could be addressed at a future meetup ?

I would think that a call to an API would just be a web request from GAE. If you have a specific question, ask it at the meeting. Between Jeff, Vic, and me we can probably answer it.

Will you/could you include demonstrating using the APIs using Google App Engine (preferably Python)?

    September 21, 2012

    • Robert H.

App Engine is a separate product and not covered by the API client libraries. It has its own SDK.

Absolute worst possible day this month. {:
Ah well, was looking forward to these. Any chance they'll be recorded?

    September 19, 2012

    • Robert H.

We don't record the meetings. The live interaction is one of the best parts. For recorded information on the APIs check out

This would be my first meeting. What do I bring?

    September 16, 2012

    • Robert H.

A positive attitude and a laptop if you want to follow along.
