January Monthly NYC GTUG Meeting

Sun Microsystems (map)

Selected By: Dario Laverde

We're back, 2010 is looking like a another good year for Google Technologies..

This is a joint meeting with the New York Web Performance Group.

Sergey Chernyshev - Web Performance and Google Page Speed. Want to improve the performance of your website? This talk will show you how to profile the performance of your site and implement best practices to increase speed and efficiency.

Bob Hancock - The Google App Engine datastore internals. Once you know how the data is structured in BigTable and how the App Engine uses this you will be able to effectively structure your data. Find out how App Engine/Big Table optimizes for reads and why RDMS normalization does not apply.

Dario Laverde - Google's Protocol Buffers, an intro in C and Java

Lightning talks - come up and talk for 5 minutes about a Google technology that you have used.

Thanks to Sun Microsystems for hosting the location and Google for the refreshments (pizza)!
