Global Frackdown at Cuomo's NY Food and Wine brunch

https://www.facebook.com/events/420314684744793/

Please invite all of our friends! It's going to be an INCREDIBLE day. Great activities for both children and adults. Plus who doesn't want the chance to greet Cuomo on his way into a brunch celebrating (frack-free!) food, wine & beer.
We have a list of demands:
-NY State will not be fracked!
-NY State wants all fracking infrastructure removed.
-NY State wants clean and healthy food, wine and beer
-NY State wants clean energy and clean and safe JOBS!
-NY State demands real action on climate change.

*We are the people of NY State and this is what we want*

October 19th from 11am - 3pm we have activities ranging from:
-signs (please bring your food centric signage!), singing and chanting for Cuomo and guests' entrance
-kids super hero activities in a picnic-like lawn atmosphere
-a beautiful and meaningful procession just down the street to the Spectra Pipeline site.

Please RSVP here on meetup and on our FB event: https://www.facebook.com/events/420314684744793/

Big thanks to everyone who came out yesterday and helped organize this, and to all the photographers and videographers! Estimates were from[masked] people and there was coverage on NY1 and CBS2. We had a great day, perfect weather, lots of positive energy! Not only did we have the rally and lawn events, we had people INSIDE the brunch the whole time, speaking with partygoers, chefs and vintners--they received overwhelmingly positive responses, and when the BOATS sailed by, that really made an impression! Although Cuomo's staff had drawn the curtains so the partygoers couldn't see us, they knew we were there, and so did Cuomo--who cancelled at the last minute, in what is starting to become a pattern with him. Seems anywhere fracktivists show up, he doesn't--hmmm, what's with that? ; )

EPIC FAIL!!! Governor Cuomo at Chelsea Piers today, too scared about facing #GlobalFrackdown #FoodNotFracking activists decided not to attend his own event (again!)

It was disappointing that Cuomo didn't show, but it was inspiring none the less.

He is def feeling guilty and wrestling with his conscience. He can't look us in the eye....nor himself. More IM towards him for sure.

After the activities at Chelsea Piers, about 150 people marched to the Spectra site, where a quiet meditation was held. A nice end to a terrific day. Thanks again Ekayani and Jerrod!

Passing along a comment from a FB friend in California: "Fantastic photos, I can feel the spirit there! I was thinking of you all today from the Oakland frackdown. What you've done in NY has been such an inspiration to the movement around the country - around the world, actually. Be proud, you absolutely rock!"
