Action at Spectra Site with Tim DeChristopher

As of Friday, November 1st, shale gas from the Marcellus, and its associated radon, will start flowing through the Spectra pipeline in unknown proportions, directly into New York City boilers, laundromats, and kitchens.

After the morning event in Brooklyn, Tim DeChristopher will join us at the Spectra site, with his always-inspiring words, for a rally and action with elected officials (list in formation, TBA).

We want to thank everyone who has been such a huge support during the two years that we've been protesting this pipeline, especially our loyal membership and the legislators who are working on a law that would protect consumers from the dangers of radon, and is our next line of defense against the shale gas invasion of our city. Throughout this fight, YOU'VE been there with us, and we hope you'll join us for this last splash at the Spectra site!

Meet up for a peaceful rally on the promenade next to the river, just north of the crosswalk of the West Side Highway at Horatio St. There will be an optional non-violent action for those who wish to be arrested in protest of the pipeline. Legal observers will be present, and certain officials will also be arrested.
