One very important outcome of the December 30th NYC Grassroots Alliance (NYCGA) meeting was a consensus decision that NYCGA’s constituent groups would communicate their top priorities for New York City and New York State. NYCGA is a bridge among the many groups in NYC working against nuclear and fossil fuels and working for renewable energy. The intent of NYCGA is orchestration. NYCGA can be effective in setting the energy and environmental agenda for 2014—citywide and statewide. During the NYC mayoral race debates, all the candidates at times seemed to be repeating our talking points. Let's carry that momentum forward!
The deadline for submitting proposed priorities for City and State is Friday, January 24th. At the January 29th meeting we will choose the top two or three priorities from each list. The expectation is that ALL of our people power—not just the people who come to the meetings—will share the chosen 2014 priorities and contribute towards making them a reality.
