UWS Climate Change House Party about Our Offshore Energy Future: WIND

  • May 12, 2014 · 7:00 PM

5/12, UWS Climate Change House Party: Our Offshore Energy Future:  Wind

Following closely on the heels of a wonderful, well-attended presentation on 4/21 about potential for a clean renewable energy future for NYS, on 5/12 we will focus on how NY can become an offshore wind leader. We will watch a lovely film about what is involved in selecting sites for wind farms, find out why some think the northeastern US coast is "the Saudi Arabia of wind" and have our questions about wind answered by Sierra Club's David Alicea and learn about 2 proposed offshore wind farms, obstacles that stand in the way of their being approved and what we can do to help promote them.

We can make a difference!

RSVP is required with names and email addresses of all attendees.

This event will take place in a residential building.  Address will be provided after you RSVP.

Informative interesting film, knowledgeable speaker, excellent turnout, great audience who asked good questions. There was lots of interest in this topic.

If you'd consider the West Village, my apartment can work for a group this size...
