This participative workshop represents a paradigm shift in flexibility training. Flexibility isn't measured by range of motion (ROM), alone. True flexibility is accompanied by strength throughout the range and in all planes of motion. Our workshop introduces the Ki-Hara method of resistance stretching. This technique, popularized by Olympic swim star, Dara Torres, combines strength, flexibility and core work. It is a total workout that is fast becoming a staple for swimmers, runners, bikers, yogis, Pilates enthusiasts, competitive dancers, physical therapists, personal trainers and elite athletes.
The Ki-Hara technique produces immediate and cumulative results, including longer and stronger muscles, improved joint stability, and increased power. That's not all. Other benefits are faster recovery from arduous workouts, improved biomechanics and core strength.
The workshop is conducted by certified Ki-Hara trainers, and it's quite robust. During the workshop, you'll be introduced to the guiding principles, learn a fascial release technique called "mashing", learn and perform 16 amazing self-stretches covering the upper and lower body, and we'll also demonstrate some assisted-stretches, as well.
So, if you're looking for a progressive stretching modality that'll provide a competitive edge, join us. The workshop is highly participative, so please wear workout gear. Bring a yoga mat, bottled water, a big towel (or two) and an even bigger smile. We take our stretching seriously, not ourselves.
