Osu!!!
In this NYC Kihon Karate (Basic Karate) Meetup Group, one will learn respect, patience, appreciation, and enhance one's life via the path of The Middle Way; i.e., balance. That is why martial arts is so important; it helps one to balance oneself and for one not to be controlled by whimsical thoughts (Abstract Mind or delusional stagnant thoughts). Kihon or Basics is the essence of this Group as in any Martial Arts; thus, one will move past the false mind-set of I cannot do karate, because it is too rough and I am not coordinated enough or this or that; that is ALL stagnant mind and abstract thought; i.e., not reality, so int he group you will surpass that delusional mind set.
Thus, changing one's perception in every aspect of one's life. So, get prepared to sweat, focus, and change one's metabolism by learning to punch and kick correctly. Very intense and thorough class, so expect your body to change! Implemented pad work, such as heavy arms guards, heavy focus mitts, kick "slap" pad, calisthenics, plyo-metrics, and cardio are stressed via strength and conditioning. Again, this is especially designed for beginners who "think" that they cannot partake in the Martial Arts and have held themselves back. NOW, is the time to stop ruminating and do what you always wanted to do: take karate or involve yourself into the Martial Arts or Way. Furthermore, one will be pushed, and thus, one's psyche will change for the better, and one will improve oneself through one's dedication to one's craft, which is a commitment to oneself. Please come join us, open your mind set, change your perception to reality, and "Just Sweat" - i.e., Just Train!!! Osu!
