The power of BIM software packages depends on their ease of use and compatibility with one another; fast and accurate coordination is an industry imperative. Many BIM products provide sophisticated building analysis and planning capabilities, but they rely on heavy interfaces with steep learning curves and fail to support direct integration with leading project management systems. An independent web based platform can enhance the productivity of BIM tools as they continue to transform the construction industry.
All parties involved in the building lifecycle benefit from aggregated BIM data: owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, construction managers, design/builders and facilities managers. The session will review several approaches project participants could use to capture and deliver value created by using BIM. Horizontal Glue™ is web-based BIM collaboration software that communicates seamlessly with leading BIM tools and integrates object data with project management systems.
Horizontal LLC evolved from the need for a true BIM server that offers interoperability among the major BIM packages and project management software. The goal is to enable ubiquitous access to critical project information, such as estimates, budgets, schedules, submittals and RFI’s that have real-time links to aggregated BIM data. In this way, as any trade or designer updates the model, those changes and potential impacts can be immediately managed through the project management system.
