Free mindfulness meditation classes led by a Buddhist monk.The classes are designed to develop awareness and promote serenity through walking, standing, and sitting mindfulness. Prior to meditation, the students will practice breathing, posture, and stress-reduction exercises. We will use mindfulness to reflect upon life and help explore the causes of stress and suffering within. Four kinds of Abiding "loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity" may be cultivated too. Meditation techniques are based solely on the stages of mindfulness according to the original teachings of the historical Buddha. Participants are welcome regardless of experience, and are expected to arrive on time.
